The next show in my 2026 Must See Show series is Jimmy Eat World’s biggest ever UK headline date, taking over Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 16 August to celebrate 25 years of Bleed American. An anniversary show of this scale feels significant, not just because of the size of the park, but because of what that record still represents.
Released at the start of the 2000s, Bleed American helped push alternative rock firmly into the mainstream and gave the band a breakthrough moment that never really faded. The album went Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK, while ‘The Middle’ has now passed a billion streams. Beyond the numbers, it became a reference point for a generation of bands who followed. Two and a half decades later, it still sounds as sharp and emotionally honest as ever. Hearing it performed in full in a London park will be a real I was there moment.
The band have remained active ever since, balancing festival slots, headline shows, major support tours and studio work without turning into a nostalgia act. Even while revisiting a classic album, this does not feel like a backward looking move. It is a celebration of longevity.

The supporting lineup adds serious weight. The night's special guests Rise Against bring their own catalogue of punchy anthems and political edge, while one of the night's supports The Get Up Kids return to a stage that suits their influence on the scene. Jay Som rounds out the bill with a more understated but equally compelling presence. It is a lineup that reflects the era Bleed American helped shape, while still feeling current and extremely exciting
Gunnersbury Park continues to build a strong 2026 run, with Lenny Kravitz headlining the night before on Saturday 15 August, making it a stacked weekend in West London.
