Remember Monday 'What The Hell Just Happened?' Tour

Cambridge Junction, Cambridge - 05/11/25

2025 has been nothing short of stratospheric for Remember Monday, having represented the UK at Eurovision, played Wembley as part of Capital’s Summertime Ball, and now closing the year out with their biggest headline tour to date. The 17-date tour has seen the theatrical trio travel the length of the UK, with last night at Cambridge Junction marking the tour's penultimate show. With a room full of passionate fans (and a few dads at the back accompanying their kids thanks to the venue’s 14+ rule), there was a palpable sense of excitement at seeing such stardom in such an intimate setting.

The trio’s live band took to the stage first, beginning with an intro jam paired with audio clips from radio and TV appearances, and a few playful nods to this year’s Eurovision. The jam quickly transitioned into the intro for ‘Famous’, cueing the arrival of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele to take centre stage. Having seen Remember Monday a few times at festivals, I knew just how good they would be live, but what immediately stood out in this headline setting was the passion of their fans, and the way that love is reciprocated between band and audience.

‘Who You Are’ came next, swiftly followed by one of the night’s many covers, their beloved version of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Hand in My Pocket’. Before performing, Holly-Anne slipped up mid-introduction, asking the crowd, “What day of the night is it?”, a mistake that Charlotte and Lauren quickly pounced on. It was the perfect encapsulation of the night that would follow, three best friends clearly having the time of their lives, with the audience feeling like part of that joy too. Vocally, Remember Monday are built for the biggest stages, but their warmth and playfulness on stageshine even brighter in this intimate setting, where they can be their fully self-proclaimed "silly" selves.

Amid the humour and covers, Remember Monday’s own music was a reminder of why they’ve earned such a devoted following. The eruption of crowd singalong during ‘Happier’ was immediate and electrifying. The musicality on display extended beyond the trio themselves, with the live band, Polly Money (Guitar), Hattie Steel (Drums), and Kaity Rae (Keys & Acoustic Guitar), adding an incredible depth to every track. The chemistry across the six performers was effortless, elevating each song to a new level.

One of the band’s most infamous covers followed, a mashup of ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Pink Pony Club’, proving that even the word “motherf***er” can sound angelic when sung by Remember Monday. As the mashup concluded, the live band left the stage, leaving the three members of Remember Monday seated centre stage for 'The Bucket Game'. Fans had left song requests in a bucket on the merch desk, which the trio would draw from before breaking into spontaneous a cappella performances. Their ability to execute impromptu harmonies was beyond impressive, with covers ranging from Taylor Swift’s ‘All Too Well’ to Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’, and Wilson Phillips’ ‘Hold On’, the latter initially delayed by a laughing fit from Lauren at the thought of Holly-Anne singing herself down the wedding aisle to the song.

As the blissful chaos subsided, the trio were rejoined by Kaity for one of the night's most emotional moments, the stunning performance of an unreleased piano-backed ballad titled ‘The Page’. This was a song that was once in contention to be Remember Monday's Eurovision entry, and it is most definitely a welcome addition to their current live set. From the very first note, the room fell into a hushed stillness, every lyric hanging delicately in the air. Despite being previously unheard by virtually all in attendance, the song struck a deep chord, showing just how much excellent music Remember Monday already have in the bag, which makes their future even more exciting. This was further reinforced by a later track, 'Right Heart, Wrong Time', which was preceded by an exciting tease that a debut album may be on the way!

After an exciting night of hits, covers and unreleased music, it was a triad of musical excellence in 'what the girls bathroom Is for', ‘Laugh About It’, and their massive Eurovision anthem ‘What the Hell Just Happened’ that closed the night in euphoric fashion, proving exactly why Remember Monday are one of the UK’s most thrilling live acts. Every element, from the trio’s infectious chemistry, the virtuosity of their live band, the spontaneous a cappella moments, to the heartfelt new material, combined to make the night feel simultaneously monumental and intimate. It was a show that flew by, leaving the audience exhilarated, laughing, and singing along long after the final note.
