Jo Hill is back with her first release since dropping her highly acclaimed debut album 'girlhood.' at the end of last year. New track 'ZOOM OUT' sees Jo enter a more folk-pop inspired space, combining her incredible vocal and lyrical work with the most infectious backing track. The song's release was also paired with a brilliant music video that you should absolutely check out

Panic Shack - 'Gok Wan'

Despite being extremelly active on the touring scene over the last few years, you actually have to go back to 2022 for Panic Shack's last released track. That was until this past week when stellar new track 'Gok Wan' dropped, blending all of the brilliance of Panic Shack into one song; infectious tongue-in-cheek music that can tackle serious issues. Panic Shack are fast becoming one of the UK's most beloved bands, and 'Gok Wan' perfectly sums up why.

SOFY - 'floating forever'

SOFY released her new mixtape 'Another Day In Paradise' this week, and it truly is a no-skip record. The mixtape follows a chronological concept, and with every song being so good it was near in possible just picking one track to feature in this week's Songs of the Week. After much deliberation I have gone with the mixtape's closing track 'Floating Forever', as its combination of harmonious vocals and anthemic chourses showcases SOFY at her very best

Paige Cavell ft. goddard. - 'Owe It All To You'

One of the fast rising names in UK dance music Paige Cavell recently dropped her newest track 'Owe It All To You', a vibrant collaboration with the incredibly talented goddard. The track could not have dropped at a better time with the days getting longer and warmer, as whilst it may be an almost cliche term, this truly has 'Song of the Summer' potential. The backing is as energetic as they come, and Cavell's vocals throughout are sensational.

BARSTAFF ft. Hannah Mazey - 'HELL NO / iN LOVE'

'Hell NO / iN LOVE' is a coming together of two real Songs Behind the Music favourites, as genre blending BARSTAFF team up with the truly exceptional Hannah Mazy. The indie-RnB track blends a groovy instrumental with a harmonious duet-style vocal approach which drives the song to a whole new level. Both BARSTAFF and Hannah Mazey are destined for great things, so this release really is a meeting of minds of true musical powerhouses.

Gracie Love - 'Magic'

Its very rare a song title can also be used to describe the song itself, but Gracie Love's new release truly is 'Magic. The track, which takes on a summery pop-folk feel, would be an impressive release for any artist, but given this is actually Gracie's debut release it become even more awe-inspiring. In amongst the upbeat soundscape is some real moving lyrical work that will get you feeling inspired to take those big-leaps in life.

Alex Apolline - 'Downfall'

Alex Apolline is an artist to the fullest of definitions, combining ethereal music with stunning visuals and spell-binding videos, and nothing shows that more than her new single 'Donwfall'. This song reinforces Alex's fast rising place within music, showcasing her truly exceptional lyrical abilities. Through masterful  storytelling Alex manages to capture not only a world of toxicity in a relationship, but also toxicity to one's self.

Copper Lungs - 'Broken Beautiful'

Copper Lungs burst back onto the music scene last year after taking a short break, and have been on a string of hot releases ever since. Most recent track 'Broken Beautiful' may just be the best of the lot so far. A story of finding the broken beauty in life is delivered through an energetic guitar track that will stay stuck in your head long after first listen. 'Broken Beautiful' will also excitingly act as the title track of Copper Lungs' upcoming album, which is set for release on May 16th.

MARTA - 'Fangirls'

The new release from MARTA, 'Fangirls', sees her craft a love-letter to not only her fans, but also all fangirls across the industry. So many small artists are driven to great heights by supportive communities like the ones MARTA sings about, and this song really does feel like the perfect celebration of them. With a catchy chorus and an upbeat atmospheric instrumental this song is not only a lovely gesture, but also a stellar pop song.
