MAN WITH A MISSION - 'REACHING FOR THE SKY'
MAN WITH A MISSION have started off their 15th anniversary year with the release of energetic new track 'REACHING FOR THE SKY'. The song shows the Japanese five-piece at their very best, blending catchy choruses with a heavy-driven instrumental. The track is also the lead single for the groups forthcoming 'XV EP' which is set for release on March 12th, featuring 4 new tracks and 8 live recordings of fan-favourite songs.
Natalie Shay - 'Love You To Death'
Long-term SBTM favourite Natalie Shay dropped her first new music of the year last week, the anthemic 'Love You to Death'. The track is the perfect upbeat listen as the days are getting warmer, immediately making me want to be stood in a festival field listening to it. It features the now expected sensational vocal work of Natalie, and some all to relatable lyrics for people who have felt the same.
OKO X Cameron Hayes - 'Shadow'
Collaborations don't come much better than OKO linking up with Cameron Hayes, with the emotion on offer throughout 'Shadow' only acting emphasise the duo's power. The song, which tackles themes of grief and loss is written in tribute to OKO's late brother Max. Cameron Hayes' stunning vocals throughout the track give it the emotional feel such beautiful lyricism deserves. This track is living proof of the moving power music can hold.
Eve Buckley - 'Ingrained'
'Ingrained' is the poignant new single from Eve Buckley, released as the closer of her debut EP 'Some Kind of Solace'. The song is a 6-minute masterpiece that has listeners gripped from first note, highlighting Buckley's etheral vocal work. It caps off a stunning EP which explores womanhood and life in your 20s. The Falls - 'Loaded Gun'
Indie-rock quarter The Falls is their first release of 2025, and may well be their best to date. It progresses at relentless rate of guitar-backed brilliant, building into an epic final chorus that feels tailor made to be torn up on stage. It feels that with every release The Fall are defining their sound more and more, and with 'Loaded Gun' I think they may have landed on gold.
Retropxssy - 'SHUT UP!'
'SHUT UP!' is the new release from genre-blending artist Retropxssy, who is fighting back against self-doubt. The self-proclaimed "shouty naughty song" is the perfect listen for anyone who needs a reminder of how incredible they are, acting as motivation to tell your own demons to Shut Up. At only 1min 30secs long the pace is relentless, and yet the impact of the track still remains huge.
Iona Summer - 'Mirror Image'
Indie-pop artist Iona Summer dropped her second release last week, 'Mirror Image', written to address the complexities of father-daughter relationships. The song is a real introspective piece of art that provided Iona with a platform to reflect on her own life experiences. From this she has created a track that despite being so personal, could also be applied to so many other relationships in life and be a truly important song to so many.
Dead Writers - 'Meet The Shadow'
'Meet the Shadow' is the new track from aesthetically sensational band Dead Writers, who blend a haunting gothic-rock sound with neo-glam stylings to create art that transcends music. The new track is inspired by Carl Jung's Shadow Self theory, addresing themes of self-doubt and internal-conflicts. It is a highly intellectual listen, and yet sonically sounds so incredible that it can be enjoyed both as a deeper listen or a casual jam.
Oli Bruce - 'Tell Me'
Cambridgeshire-based artist Oli Bruce has released brilliant new single 'Tell Me', hot off the news he is performing at SBTM's Night of Live Music for Jamie's Quest.
