The next show I am highlighting in the 2026 Must See Show campaigns is Duran Duran's headline return to BST Hyde Park, taking to the Great Oak Stage on Sunday 5 July. Joined by special guests Scissor Sisters, with more acts still to be announced, this is shaping up to be one of the most joyous and iconic nights of the entire summer series.
Few bands can claim a catalogue quite like Duran Duran's. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, hits like 'Rio', 'Hungry Like the Wolf', 'Girls on Film' and 'Ordinary World' have soundtracked generations, and Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor show no signs of slowing down. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, recipients of two GRAMMY Awards and two BRIT Awards including an Ivor Novello for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, they remain one of the most decorated and enduring acts in pop history. Their 2023 album Danse Macabre, blended new material and reimagined, demonstratig that the creative ambition that defined their early years has never dimmed. A Las Vegas residency at the Fontainebleau and a run of European dates precede their arrival in London, meaning they will arrive at Hyde Park in full stride.
The addition of Scissor Sisters as special guests feels like a natural pairing. Having cited Duran Duran as a major influence and previously joined them on tour, the connection between the two acts runs deep. After more than a decade apart, Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis made their long-awaited return in 2025, marking the twentieth anniversary of their iconic debut with a sold-out UK arena tour, a legendary Glastonbury set and a co-headline run across the United States alongside Kesha. As someone who was lucky enough to be in attendance for one of those return dates, I can assure you that Scissor Sisters are better than they ever have been. Their appearance here feels less like a support slot and more like a second headline in its own right.
The full supporting lineup for 5 July is still to be announced and I will update this feature as soon as further names are confirmed. BST Hyde Park rarely does things by halves, so expect the undercard to match the occasion.
Duran Duran joins an already packed BST Hyde Park 2026 schedule that includes Garth Brooks on Saturday 27 June, Maroon 5 on Friday 3 July, Mumford and Sons on Saturday 4 July, Pitbull on Friday 10 July and Lewis Capaldi across two headline nights on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July.
