These are the 10 new tracks you need to check out this week!
This week's Songs of the Week are led by Maisi's 'idk', the first song of her new. The track sees Maisi step more into an indie-pop world, combining an infectiously upbeat backing track with some truly introspective lyrics. It is a slight genre shift from the alt-pop and electro sounds Maisi has put out recently, showcasing no matter the genre taken on, Maisi will remain a star. There is no doubt she is one of the country's most exciting upcomers, and is destined for the very top.
Another exciting and genre-diverse artist who has adopted a new sound this week is Pien. Her new release 'Not Yet' sees Pien take a step towards an Indie-Americana sound, ushering a new era of music which will culminate with the release of a debut EP. The song tells an all too relatable story to many of falling being 'Not Yet' ready to fall in love again due to still getting over a previous lover. The lyricism is exceptional and the songs atmospheric soundscape makes for an incredible listening experience.
After the release of her stellar second EP at the end of last year, Dalia has returned with her first release of 2025, 'CUT IT OFF!'. The song is one of Dalia's most explosive to date, featuring some huge-sounding choruses and masterful vocal prowess. The guitar track that drives through the choruses and bridge turns this already brilliant release into a truly anthemic single. This feels a song made for the biggest of rooms, and if Dalia continues making songs this good it will only be a matter of time until she is headlining them.
'You' is the stunning new single from Spanish pop artist Mariona Aguilera. Now based in Liverpool, Mariona has teamed up with producer Ciaran Gaffney to create a song that is hauntingly beautiful. The storytelling throughout this song is truly spectacular, being delivered perfectly through Mariona's powerful vocals. The track which starts off with a poignantly gentle backing builds into the most incredible cacophony of sound at the end. This song would be top-tier no matter when it was released, but given it is only Mariona's second single (and first in English), it is made even more impressive!
Toria Wooff is back with her second single of the year 'That's What Falling In Love Will Do', an emotive song that captivates from the very first note. Toria's take on alt-folk is truly beautiful, highlighted equally on other recent release 'Lefty's Motel Room'. Both of these songs will feature on Toria Wooff's self titled debut album, which is set for release on March 14th. This is set to be one of the releases of the year, and if you need any proof why just listen to the brilliance of 'That's What Falling In Love Will Do'
Upcoming Irish Folk artist Bríd Lyons's released her first single of the year last week, and it could well be her best yet. The imagery created throughout 'Mothlight' is as poignant as it is vivid. The song tells a story of a deeply intertwined long distance relationship, utilising almost poetic lyricism with stunning raw vocals to drive the emotional feeling home.
'Little Death' is the epic new single from British heavy band Rogue Awakening, who have been a sleeping-giant in the Alt-scene. With every release Rogue Awakening craft their own sound further, blending an almost hair-rock style flamboyancy with thrashing backings and powerful gutturals, to create the most phenomenal metal-based soundscape. Lead singer Kimberly's vocals perfectly flow over the top of this, creating a truly powerful track
I have spoke a lot about lyrical prowess and storytelling this week, but there really aren't many acts who manage this quite as well as Rusbonds. Their newest single 'My Comedian' shows this better than perhaps any of their releases so far. The track blends spellbinding vocals and the most brilliantly distinctive instrumentals to create a captivating track that muses Osamu Dazai's classic novel 'The Setting Sun'.
Richie Paisley's new release 'Fire Brigade' is a brilliant demonstration of the mesmerising musicality he possesses. The song tells a story of two people being forced into accepting a relationship can't work despite their best efforts, being told through some brilliant metaphors and imagery. Paisley's soothing vocal delivery throughout the track adds to it's brilliance, being paired with harmonious backing that creates an almost nostalgic feeling through the track
Canadian rapped Alick Mac released his newest single '6 Feet Deep' this weekend, creating arguably his catchiest release to date. Mac combines a catchy hook and high energy instrumental to create an upbeat listening experience, whilst delivering some pretty powerful lyrics. The song is a real soundtrack for those looking to drive forward in life, searching for meaning and living life to the fullest
